COLLINS PRESTIGE SUITE
The Prestige Suite from Collins Aerospace
offers a fully enclosed spacious and private
suite, within a herringbone high-density
layout that can occupy a 44in pitch – similar
floorspace to many long-haul business
class seats. By separating the bed and seat
mechanisms, Collins is able to manufacture a
seating solution that maximizes comfort in all
passenger positions. This suite has the widest
and longest fully-flat bed in a business class
density layout, as well as a bed whose comfort
has been benchmarked against a leading
hotelier’s bedding.
Designed with the Tangerine studio, unique
spatial solutions were achieved from the
layout, such as room for the passenger to
stand while the bed activates. The seat and bed
interface is tactile and highly intuitive. Unlike

standard positioning of the IFE screen, facing
the passenger for an optimal viewing angle.
The Prestige bed height is optimised for
both legroom and foot clearance to provide
an unobstructed sleeping experience. As the
seating mechanism articulates, it also closely
hugs the shell, maximising the area in front
of the seat for passenger ingress and egress.
This premium full-bed flying experience
with a small footprint has the flexibility to fit
different aircraft, giving airlines the opportunity
to offer their business class passengers an
unmatched sleeping experience. For longhaul
flights this will offer airlines a significant
competitive advantage over traditional lay-flat
business class products.

Thompson Aero Seating’s new
VantageSolo model has been developed
and designed specifically for narrowbody
aircraft. From only a 33in seat
pitch, the VantageSolo’s Herringbone
design offers a fully horizontal flat bed
with direct aisle access for every seat.
The optional doors also bring Solo on
trend with the growing popularity for
enclosed suites.
Based upon a 33in seat pitch on
an A321, VantageSolo would have
a fully useable 78in bed length with
a minimum footwell width of 12in,
a 21in seat width, and a 26in bed/
shoulder width.
Thompson expects the VantageSolo
to be certified for the A321 platform
in late 2019, with the first customer
delivery for the A321 platform due in
early 2020.
