MARCH 2020 219
ver since low-cost carriers
started entering the market,
maximising passenger capacity
E
has become a key priority for airlines.
This trend has translated into more
competitive fares, though sometimes
at the expense of the customer comfort.
In contrast, passengers are paying
increasing attention to cabin appearance
and inflight service, and expect a
comfortable journey in a pleasant
environment. The outcome is a
continuous investment by airlines into
the design and manufacturing of cabin
hardware and soft goods.
These are the main reasons why,
during the last decade, the cabin interiors
industry has been growing rapidly,
based on the development of new
products and concepts that can
improve and differentiate the onboard
customer experience.
Aircraft manufacturers are also
working on new technologies to bring
cabin interiors to higher levels of comfort
and quality, from business to economy
class, and airlines need to implement
these changes on their existing fleets
in order to keep their cabin environment
updated to meet the latest trends.
As a result of those developments,
there is a growing need for refurbishment
activities and extended retrofit projects.
Managing a full cabin project can be
a complex process due to the huge
amounts of material and certification
aspects that need to be taken care
of, especially when many suppliers
are involved.
This is the environment where AIRE
(Aircraft Interiors Refurbishment España),
a company that specialises in the design,
production and maintenance of cabin
interiors, can add value for airlines. AIRE
holds Part 21J, 21G and 145 approvals
and is ready to handle nose-to-tail cabin
on-wing support for cabin maintenance/
modifications and integration. This added
value was demonstrated in the Tarmac
Aerosave project, as after the engineering
and production services were complete,
AIRE’s Part 145 team supported the
implementation of the cabin modification
at Tarmac’s facilities in Teruel, Spain,
concluding the project having provided
full assistance for the entire duration
of the programme.
With over 20 years of experience, AIRE
is a high quality and flexible supplier to
carry out complex cabin projects in the
easiest and smartest way.
