LIGHTWEIGHT PARTS INNOVATION
Ebco has extended its product portfolio for
aircraft seating and cabin components
Ebco specialises in manufacturing
components for aircraft seating and
cabins, with a strong record for supplying
tray tables and armrests to many aircraft
manufacturers. The company supports
its customers from the initial design
phase to series production, and on to
spare parts delivery.
Weight reduction and durability are
top priorities at Ebco, which has
successfully implemented Industry 4.0
through the installation of modern
machinery, supported by a document
management system and the ANT smartfactory
software system.
The company offers complex
thermoformed parts with PUR
reinforcements, which are naturally
flame-proof. As a result, costs and weight
are reduced, as thinner foil can be used
functionality to be verified
very early in the development
phase, and therefore new
ideas can be implemented
very quickly.
“It is very important for Ebco to
provide our customers with everything
from a single source, with new
innovations, as well as environmentally
sound and sustainable materials,” says
Michael Graf, Ebco’s sales manager. “But
that works only with a high standard of
local customer care, and this is our
approach to ensuring a good relationship
with customers.”

MARCH 2020
Delivering an outstanding customer
experience starts with committing to
inclusivity for all passengers. The number
of passengers who are restricted in
movement is increasing, and in order
for airlines to cater for this category of
passenger, an on-board wheelchair
is essential.
However, not all airlines provide this
type of equipment, which means
that the experience is going to
be limited for those
passengers who are unable
to move around the aircraft
independently. This lack of
essential equipment can
affect an airline’s
reputation.
without need for expensive and heavy
reinforcements. Furthermore these PURreinforced
parts also have a positive
impact on the results of HIC (head injury
criterion) tests. In addition, Ebco now
offers tray tables and armrests featuring
all-aluminium connections to the seat,
with all varieties of fastening systems
available for use.

At 6kg, Airchair
is the lightest on
board wheelchair
available on the
market
Weighing just 6kg, the
Airchair is the most
economical option too,
allowing airlines to save
money on fuel costs
compared with some more
cumbersome chairs.
Accessibility reform in the
airline industry is gaining traction, and
airlines using an on-board wheelchair,
such as the Airchair, are helping ensure
that air travel is a pleasurable experience
for everyone.
The use of an onboard wheelchair,
such as the Airchair, enables passengers
that need assistance to be transferred to
their seat easily and with dignity. With
360° swivel castor wheels, the Airchair is
easy to manoeuvre around the confines
of an aircraft, providing access to the on
board amenities and vastly improving the
experience for passengers who need it.
Assisting cabin crew members
to achieve the best level of
service is also critical. The
Airchair is the market’s
lightest and most robust
onboard wheelchair, and
it can easily be fitted in
the overhead lockers or
dog box for storage.
