Swiss FBO embraces art,
IS-BAH and efficiency
Air Service Basel is providing effective and flexible services
Air Service Basel celebrates
achieving its mid-year
goals including reaching ISBAH
level II, opening a line
station in Hamburg and
hosting a record number
of daily movements on the
first day of the Art Basel
week, the busiest week of
the FBO’s year.
The FBO has been awarded
IS-BAH II certification for the level
of security, safety and service devlivered
at its private terminal at EuroAirport Basel-
Mulhouse-Freiburg in Switzerland. The
certification is a glowing accreditation for
the team at Air Service Basel, who put
every effort into their company mission
to “provide the most sophisticated
and personalized business aviation
experience to every guest and aircraft, we
accommodate from landing to take-off”.
Following the positive start to the year,
Air Service Basel prepared to support the
international art exhibition in Basel, which
is always the busiest week of the year for
the FBO.
Art Basel hosts over 4,000
international artists at the Messe Basel
and attracts over 90,000 attendees
over the six-show days. The Messe
Basel is only a ten-minute drive from the
Air Service Basel private terminal. It’s
handling services, customs clearances,
limousine transfers and crew facilities
make it the preferred FBO for Art
enthusiasts to arrive and depart discreetly
during the week of the show. This year,
the results were extremely positive for
the comapny. Not only did they greet
passengers and aircraft arriving from all
over the world from planes such as a
Piper PA 32 up to a Global Express 6000,
they also handled a record 10-times the
average daily movements on the first day
of the Art Basel private showing.
“We are always looking forward to
this period because our team work is
stronger than ever during the year,” said
Sandrine Schmidlin, Air Service Basel’s
FBO manager. “It’s our chance to show
what we can do with our range of services

Alongside the handling efforts, Air
Service Basel has also been expanding
its Maintenance services by opening
a certified line station at Hamburg
Fuhlsbuettel Airport. The team are
currently qualified to take on clients with
Falcon 900EX / EX EASy / LX.
Air Service Basel’s CEO, Claudio
Lasagni believes that after marking their
50th anniversary last year, the FBO is on
track with its goals to retain its most loyal
customers and reach out in target markets
for new ones. He says that they have no
current plans to expand further because
“we take pride in our size to be flexible
and efficient for our customers. The line
station in Germany is a perfect example
of that because our mobile-team can be
set-up quickly wherever our clients need
us to be.”
