VR experience
Duncan Aviation will highlight all of its MRO
and support services, from aircraft sales and
acquisitions to completions, paint, airframe and
engine maintenance and parts. The company
will represent its three full-service facilities (in
Lincoln, Nebraska; Battle Creek, Michigan; and
Provo, Utah) as well as its avionics satellite
locations and worldwide AOG and Rapid
Response Team engine services.
Attendees can also engage in a virtual
reality (VR) experience. They can stand in the
company’s Major Periodic Inspection (MPI)/
Compressor Zone Inspection (CZI) shop, put an
engine back together and run it in the test cell.
There will be a prize for those who successfully
run the engine. “The experience is a fun and
memorable way to highlight Duncan Aviation’s
TFE731 heavy authorization, which allows it to
perform CZI events,” says Mike Minchow,
Duncan Aviation’s vice president of service
sales. “Duncan Aviation has performed as
many as 200 or more of these annually. Now,
we also have the capability and authorization
to perform CZIs at our engine shop in Lincoln.”
The company has been authorized on the
HTF7000 (AS907) series engines for hot section,
front end and gearbox inspection/repairs and
continues to invest in HTF rental engines.
BIG IRON DESIGNS
Two designs shortlisted for the
International Yacht & Aviation Awards
2020 will be displayed by Jet Aviation’s
Design Studio. The first, completed in
collaboration with Boeing Business
Jets, was released at MEBAA 2018 to
accompany the launch of the Boeing
777X. The concept takes advantage of
the BBJ 777X’s size; featuring lounges,
a game and cinema area, an office, private
workspaces, three guest bedrooms and
a master suite that includes its own
lounge, bedroom, dressing/bathroom
area and shower and hammam.
The second design is a narrow-body
cabin mixing old and new aesthetics. To
create a residential feel, the furniture has
been designed to appear as free-standing
elements, crafted in figured quarter-cut
makore veneer, with details in specialist
paint finishes and elm burl.
