ircraft interiors have seen
abounding changes
over the years, but the
demand for quality leather has
remained constant. Perrone
Aerospace has honed its
leather craftsmanship over
three generations, spanning a full
century. The company’s interests
turned from gloves to airline crew
jackets in the 1980s, introducing it
to the world of aircraft interiors
just as the commercial market
began making the switch from
fabric seats to leather covers
throughout the aircraft.
Perrone’s VIP leather
offerings include Duchess,
Monarch and Noble. The ranges are
designed to offer luxury of the highest
order while providing the durability
required in corporate and VIP jet interiors.
LUXURY LEATHER
Noble is the top of the line. “Created from
the most premium selection of European
raw material, Perrone’s minimally
finished Noble Leather resembles the
extremely soft feel of calf skin,” says Bill
Perrone, president of Perrone Aerospace.
“As one of our most well-known and
requested products in corporate aviation,
its soft buttery hand and custom colour
palette create an incomparable
upholstery experience.”
But the company is a strong believer
in always pushing forward. “One of the
keys to keeping up is being open to
change and understanding that
sometimes a delicate blend of old and
new is the best way to meet the unique
design needs of the customer,” says
Perrone. “We began in the leather
business and leather will continue to
be where our expertise lies. We are

Distinct applications and unique
customer needs require a variety of
options. While the ability to craft genuine
leather is one of Perrone’s long-standing
selling points, the company says
Alcantara has proven to be a great accent
for a seat upholstered in Noble.
“In addition, we are finding that
customers are choosing Alcantara for
headliners and sidewalls, to customise
their design,” says Cognetti.
Perrone offers to personalize any
project through its in-house printing
system and debossing and stitching
capabilities. “We try to elevate every
design,” says Perrone. “If you see a
pattern you like, we can create it.”
The company offers more than 300
period-correct gaufrage embossing
patterns and custom finishes including
pearlescent and hand tipping as well as
a full catalogue of Alcantara patterns.

Perrone continues to push the limits
through its long-standing partnership
with Alcantara, which makes an
eponymous product that stands as
a vegan counterpart to Perrone’s VIP
product line, appealing to customers
interested in eco-friendly solutions.
The name Alcantara is derived from
the Arabic word meaning “the bridge”,
which is appropriate because the product
is designed to bridge the gap between
genuine leather and textiles. Alcantara is
commonly used in yachts and high-end
automobiles to create custom luxury
interiors for discerning customers.
