Case set out to produce
a concept as visionary in
form as it is in function,
reimagining the wheel loader
in aggressive yet fluent lines,
which conjure a machine of
intrinsic, aquiline beauty.
“A design must have a story
and a theme,” says Wilkie. “We
wanted to make it simple and
dramatic with a real sense of
motion – and design inspiration
came from the wings of the eagle,
flying over mountains.”
Tetra features convex panoramic
glazing for 360° visibility,
dynamically-sculpted air intakes, an
industry-first electric sliding door
and an assertively beak-like cab,
echoing contemporary architecture.
“High-rise buildings in Chicago
have visibility lounges with windows
angled outwards,” Wilkie explains.
“That inspired the cab leaning
