TIRED OF LOSING
YOUR PIPELINE?
Pink Connect are again offering Franchise opportunities to those
Sales Executives and Sales Managers who are sick of losing their
commission pipeline every time they move company. Is now the
time for a new opportunity? Here, James Pink, MD of Pink Connect
says yes, and explains what he has learned as he looks for 10 new
franchisees in 2019
DAVID DUNGAY (DD): SET UP COSTS?
JAMES PINK (JP): It costs £19,950 to
become a Pink Connect Franchisee. We
provide an exclusive area, intensive
product training, business planning and
support, prospect visits and walk them
through the whole Pink Connect process
that’s proven to work. We get nothing if
Franchisees don’t succeed, so most of the
£20k fee is put back into the Franchisee
through training, support and opportunity
costs. Long term success is key.
DD: PROFIT POTENTIAL?
JP: Our 10 year average Franchisee profit
margin is 32%. Pink Connect retain 15%
of turnover as a management fee for
running and supporting the customer,
billing and admin. We also credit check
new customers and we take 100% of the
credit risk. Goods and services supplied
cost about 50% of turnover, so the
franchisee retains the 35% in the middle,
usually for a minimum 60 months. I don’t
know many businesses where gross profit
is 35% of turnover, especially since you
have none of the hassle of day to day
customer support, billing or chasing debt…
DD: EXPECTED RESULTS?
JP: The key thing for us is Franchisees
go out and win the first ten grand a
month turnover as soon as possible.
That’s the first milestone and it should
take six months to a year to get to that
point. It’s important to crack 10k as soon
as possible, because that makes life
sustainable, bills paid. Year two, do it all
again, as the first tranche of customers
are happy and looked after by Pink
Connect. At this point they could also
take on someone else and build up a
sales team to double turnover again. The
opportunity is huge, there are 1.9 million
businesses in the UK and each Franchise
postcode area contains a minimum
20,000 potential SME customers.
DD: SUPPORT AVAILABLE?
JP: We have regular monthly sales
workshops and one day trainings,
where we go through new products and
spend time developing Franchisees
goals and business plans. They also
have a chance to talk ideas and
prospects over with our in-house Sales
Team, Support Team and established
Franchisees. It’s clearly in our interest
to ensure our new Franchisees get all
the basic stuff you don’t get when you
are on your own, as we only win when
our Franchisees win!
