FROM THE EDITOR
Happy New Year!
2019 is upon us and I can’t wait to see what the Channel has in store for us over the coming
twelve months. ere is already a lot of talk about products and services likely to hit the
market this year and much of the chat has been centred on Arti cial Intelligence (AI) and
how vendors are now integrating the technology into their product sets to create more value
in di erent markets.
Although I am sceptical as to how many resellers have AI at the front of mind just yet clearly
it is a market ready to boom, particularly around the contact centre and security spaces. I recently
spoke to customer experience specialist Sabio and the security arm of IBM to nd out how they
are using AI within their own businesses to deliver value. You will nd
a short round up of that interview on page 22 but you can nd the full
stream on the Comms Business website.
In the Uni ed Communications space we could see some interesting
movement this year as big vendors like Microsoft continue to gain traction
with their Teams proposition, WebRTC propositions become more
mainstream (check out Wildix) and FMC specialists like Simetric
come to market with some interesting Channel propositions. Read
more about Simetric’s acquisition by Tango Networks and their
new Gamma relationship on page 17.
Our o ces are becoming smarter as employers look to
maximise the productuvity of their workforce. As connected
technology seeps into the workplace partners are in an
ideal position to supply solutions alongside their existing
propositions. You can read our feature on this topic on page 36.
As always, Comms Business will endeavour to uncover opportunity
and educate the partner channel as the landscape changes.
Whatever your business needs are we hoping you all have an
excellent, and pro table, 2019!
Have a great month.
