“Today’s businesses and
their employees rely on video
conferencing for their missioncritical
communications,” said

goal with our next generation

SIMWOOD ANNOUNCES
100% WHOLESALE
VOICE SLA!!!
AFTER THE RECENT network
issues experienced by one of
the Channel’s biggest providers
Simwood has decided to offer
something quite radical.
A 100% SLA on wholesale
voice services with huge
compensation payments should
the network fail.
Simon Woodhead, CEO of
Simwood, announced the news
on his blog recently.
“So instead we’re putting
our money where our mouth
is and launching the fi rst (to
our knowledge) 100% SLA on
wholesale voice services. If
we have an actual outage that
means you cannot make calls
out or receive calls in, we’ll pay
you 25x the channel rental you
paid during the period affected.
So if we’re down for a day as
one of our contemporaries was
recently, we’re paying you for
almost the whole month!”
FLUIDONE
LAUNCHES
SD-WAN
FLUIDONE HAS ANNOUNCED
enhancements to its Software
Defi ned Networking (SDN) portfolio
with the launch of Secure SD-WAN.
Partnering with Fortinet, FluidOne’s
solution provides both SD-WAN
and security functionality in a single integrated offering for distributed
enterprise branches.
FluidOne’s CEO, Russell Horton (pictured), explains: “In discussing SDWan
requirements with several key customers and partners it became
apparent that the key use case to address is a site or branch offi ce with
at least 2 forms of connectivity (this could be fi bre, dsl or mobile) being
able to proactively load balance and prioritise traffi c on an application
by application basis.
An example is with a primary circuit and a backup, to proactively
monitor latency and utilisation and automatically route internet based
and non-essential applications over the backup line when thresholds
are breached, ensuring the mission critical business applications have
the quality of connection needed on the primary line.
As the backup line is routing over the internet this needs a branch
fi rewall if it is an offnet connection. In vendor selecting the best solution
to offer our customers FortiGate’s Secure SD-Wan combining with the
fi rewall in a single device was the stand out choice to partner with.”
