Nuvias appointed by One Identity
DISTRIBUTOR NUVIAS HAS
signed an agreement with One
Identity, a company that helps
organisations get identity and
access management (IAM)
right, to distribute its solutions
in the UK.
For organisations of all
sizes, from SMB to enterprise,
One Identity solutions provide
automation as a key element of
identity protection, eliminating
the complexities and timeconsuming
processes often
required to govern identities,
manage privileged accounts
and control access in
today’s challenging network
environment. They allow users
to enhance an organisation’s
agility, rather than being
hampered by access issues,
while addressing IAM challenges
introduced by the blending of
onpremises,
cloud and hybrid
environments.
Ian Kilpatrick (pictured),
EVP Cybersecurity for Nuvias,
commented: “Organisations
today are challenged by
the complexity of access
management and the increasing
regulatory demands being
made upon them. One Identity
is a multilayered
solution that
deals with the real world. It
allows users to begin at one
point and gradually roll out more
integrated modules to build up a
comprehensive, automated IAM
system, which is suitable for on
premises, hybrid and cloud use.”

NHS TOLD TO DITCH THE FAX MACHINES
THE USE OF fax machines in the NHS is been dubbed “absurd” by
Richard Kerr, Chair of the RCS commission (Royal College of Surgeons).
The government has told the NHS they will be banned from buying
fax machines from this month – and to phase out the machines
entirely by 2020.
In July, the Royal College of Surgeons revealed nearly 9,000 fax
machines were in use across the NHS in England.
Andrew Bruce, Head of Operations & Delivery at SQS commented,
“Banning archaic technologies like fax machines from the NHS may
seem like a sensible move, but it’s vital that replacement means
of communication are reliable and secure. Usability and reliability
are critical in NHS communications and medical staff will only use
methods that are userfriendly
and effective. Otherwise, workarounds
and unauthorised third party applications, like WhatsApp, will
overtake secure channels.”
