COMMS NEWS - MOVERS & SHAKERS
XELION HAS APPOINTED William
Scully (pictured) as Operations
Director. In his new role he will
be responsible for all support
and operational matters
including the on-boarding
of new partners, as well as
working to enhance the Xelion
product offering through new
strategic partnerships.
Prior to joining Xelion, Will
was Head of R&D for TFM
Networks. He has over 10
years’ experience in the ICT
industry including previous
roles with Interoute, Easynet and Griffi n.
Commenting on the appointment of Will Scully, Dave Reynolds stated, “We are
delighted to welcome a telecoms professional of Will’s calibre to Xelion. With our rapid
growth Will plays a crucial role in how we enhance the on-boarding process for new
partners and supporting them through the initial learning curve. Will shall also be key in
identifying future strategic partnerships to enhance the Xelion product offering. We look
forward to his positive input.”
FOLLOWING LAST MONTH’S launch of the Government’s new ‘fi re it up’ apprenticeship
campaign, The Institute of Telecommunications Professionals (ITP) is calling on the
telecoms industry to employ more apprentices.
ITP CEO, Crissi Williams said, “We have seen fi rst-hand the impact apprenticeships
can have on telecoms organisations, large and small, and want to push the message
to the industry that hiring an apprentice can have a considerable impact on your
business – whilst fi lling the skills gap.”
The ITP has been running its own apprenticeship scheme on behalf of members
since 2013 and has now created more than 100 roles across the industry as a result.
With more than 40 businesses now taking part in the scheme, the ITP is focusing this
year on helping SMEs to fi nd and employ apprentices, based on the success of its
original members.
