Residential Platform
Simwood has also announced another
exciting product launch, enabling their
customers to service Residential users.
Their new Residential Platform is built on
Sipcentric’s core Hosted VoIP platform will
offer all the usual features and services
the general public have come to expect.
The way in which the platform has been
architectured means that it can handle
the expected volume that residential
customers may bring to the network.
Residential customers wouldn’t really have
a need for some of the features businesses
do like IVR and ring groups so these have
been removed, but would need the current
features they do have like 141 and 1471,
which would be available to them on our
platform. They would also be able to use
their forthcoming app and be able to take
their landline with them on the go if they
need to. This will also be fully rebrandable
for partners.
Microsoft Teams
Integration
Simwood Partner is about to be fully
integrated with Microsoft Teams so that
enterprise organisations using Teams can
seamlessly integrate it with our hosted
PBX or SIP Trunk offering. Enabling twoway
calling through our white labelled
Partner platform and finally ticks a box
people have been asking us for over the
years.
Teams integration is available in two
flavours - PBX and Trunk. The PBX
integration integrates specific Teams
users with PBX users, enabling two-way
call flows as that user, i.e. incoming calls
delivered to Teams, outgoing calls from
Teams. The Trunk integration operates
at the organisation level and enables
Simwood Partner trunks to be used by the
Teams installation.
Simwood has been busy since the acquisitions of
Sipcentric and Birchills late last year. Their initial
plans were to merge technologies and streamline
their development teams but went much further.
“Natural opportunities to combine the culturally similar
companies presented themselves and the merging
of Support, Sales and Marketing teams across the
Bristol and Birmingham offices were accelerated”
said Simwood’s CEO Simon Woodhead. “It’s been
refreshing to work with all colleagues towards these
mutually beneficial outcomes. The Sipcentric and
Simwood teams have come together so effortlessly and
the combination has propelled the company forward on
many fronts.”
Technical opportunity
Simwood has always been engineering
led, and the combination of the businesses
has created many opportunities for the
individual company offerings, but also
the chance for unique innovations. The
Sipcentric CEO, Charles Chance, has
embraced his new role of Group CTO. He
commented: “There have been so many
ideas and feature requests in the pipeline
that our team has been working round the
clock. It’s been a difficult time globally, as
we all know, and we have been using this
time effectively building new integrations
and creating easier and more effective
ways for businesses to work. At the same
time we have put more time, energy
and resource into the development of
both our wholesale and channel partner
propositions enabling our customers to
deliver more value to the marketplace.”
Partner SIP Trunks
Simwood Partner is it’s new fully
brandable hosted PBX service built on
the powerful Sipcentric platform. Chance
said: “Simwood has always had SIP
trunks at the wholesale level which many
of you reading this will know. We’ve long
preached about encryption and fraud
prevention measures whilst delivering
SLA backed uptime, stability and high
quality. Since launching Simwood Partner
the requests for Partner SIP Trunks to
compliment the Hosted VoIP platform have
been never ending and there is a tide of
people leaving ‘me-too’ for them. So you
asked we delivered and have developed
a SIP trunk proposition that sits nicely
within the Hosted VoIP platform and works
independently, this of course, comes with
generous inclusive minutes.”
