meet the ever-increasing
demand for higher speeds.
These include G.Fast offering
speeds of up to 330Mb and
FTTP offering speeds up to 1Gb.
This announcement comes
after the recent 4G Access
Fast-Start and Backup to
Converged Ethernet Services

4G Access Fast-Start offers
instant connectivity whilst
months.
Gamma’s Senior Sales
Specialist – Data, Harry Singh
says: “The reseller market
requires a full range of access
technologies and commercial
offerings to account for
differing end user scenarios.
By further developing our
Broadband and Ethernet
offering we are continuing to
offer a strong foundation for the

Avaya confi rms RingCentral deal
RINGCENTRAL IS SET to become the sole provider of UCaaS solutions
to Avaya in a joint offering called Avaya Cloud Offi ce by RingCentral
or ACO. RingCentral and Avaya will jointly develop programs to
leverage Avaya’s global sales and partner network, as well as build
automated technologies for customer transition to RingCentral’s
global UCaaS solution.
Avaya expects to launch ACO in the fi rst quarter of calendar 2020.
RingCentral is contributing $500 million to its partnership with
Avaya, representing an approximate 6% position in Avaya on asconverted
basis.
Avaya Cloud Offi ce expands the company’s portfolio to offer
a full suite of UC, CC, UCaaS and CCaaS solutions to a global
customer base, which includes more than 120,000 customers, over
100 million UC lines and 5 million CC users in over 180 countries.
Jim Chirico, President and CEO of Avaya commented “This also
gives us the opportunity to unlock value from a largely unmonetized
base of our business as it brings compelling value to our customers
and partners. We believe this highly complementary partnership is a
game changer that expands the total addressable market for Avaya
and creates meaningful value for both Avaya and RingCentral.”
What does this mean for Avaya’s partners? RingCentral will likely
push partners towards a Master Agent model (unconfi rmed) taking
some of the customer control away from partners.
Alison Hastings, Channel Director for UK&I at Avaya commented
“For our existing Channel partners it broadens the proposition,
the customer waits for their
Ethernet circuits to be installed.
This is then transitioned to
a Backup when the primary
circuit is installed.
Gamma is also offering a
range of fl exible billing models
and incentives to give partners
control.
Gamma has stated that
partners can expect more
promotions and product
developments to follow,
including SDWAN in the coming
so I believe that is exciting as they will have a pure cloud play to
consume. It really is exciting times!”
The Unifi ed Communications market is going through a period
of intense competition at the moment which will likely lead to a
price war. The market is seeing new entrants with core business
interests in other areas, Facebook Workplace and Amazon for
example. Is this a refocused approach by Avaya to go after the
growth areas in the Contact Centre space (particularly aroud
CCaaS)? Watch this space.
5G
O2’s 5G network has launched across six
locations across the UK: Belfast, Cardiff,
Edinburgh, London, Slough and Leeds,
improving capacity and reliability in key
places. The network will initially switch
on where the service is needed most in
busy footfall areas.
MASERGY
Masergy has won the #1 Global
Webex Contact Centre Users Award,
at the Cisco Contact Centre Summit
2019. Masergy was honoured for
demonstrating excellence in innovation
and implementation of Cisco’s Webex
Contact Centre.
DROPBOX
Nuvias is broadening its vendor portfolio
to incorporate Dropbox, covering key
Northern European markets. Dropbox has
more than 500 million registered users
across 180 countries.
