SURVEILLANCE RAMP SIMULATION
VR has been a game changer for
those involved in simulation
A growing portfolio of products
Tecknotrove’s Payal Gupta reports that
the India-based operation has usefully
enlarged its offering in recent times.
Amongst its latest additions are a cargo
loader simulator and a complete team
pushback training simulator. This includes
the possibility of training of pushback
operator, the headset man, the wing
walkers and the tail watcher in the same
scenario. Such a package helps each of
the team members to understand the
sequential operation and the impact
that a mistake might have on the entire
procedure. Tecknotrove has also added an
aircraft inspection VR facility.
The cargo loader simulator is typical
of the company’s offerings in that it
replicates all the necessary controls,
thereby giving the trainee an extremely
realistic environment. Even the engine
dynamics are replicated to ensure a lifelike
feel to the whole exercise. Add to
the equation high resolution graphics, a
variety of aircraft types and a 120º viewing
facility, and the ramp operator has all
that is required to learn the loading and
unloading process. Like most, if not all,
simulators today, this example has the
capability of storing and downloading
performance data, so that an individual’s
progress can be monitored.
Amongst its customers, Tecknotrove
lists Dubai Airports, Singapore Airlines
Engineering, Abu Dhabi Airports Company
and Qatar Airways, testimony to the value
of the applications it supplies.
Finally, Global Ground Support’s Jeff
Walsh declares that there has been little
in the way of new developments on his
company’s de-icing simulators – but
adds, intriguingly, that changes are in the
pipeline.
