Tackling diversity in the manufacturing and
engineering sector has long been making
the headlines. Most businesses now have
clear equality and diversity strategies in
place and are actively speaking out about
both the challenges and solutions at play.
But what if the real problem is not what we say, but
what we don’t say?

Unconscious bias is essentially a prejudice we
are unaware of and that occurs involuntarily but
can impact every aspect of the workplace – from
