This year, the NBAA’s Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition
opens its doors on October 22 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The
three-day event presents an opportunity to network with the
industry’s leading experts, innovators and key aviation contacts
from around the world. It will feature over 1000 exhibitors
displayed across 1 million square feet of fl oor space and nearly

redefi ning the future of air transport, it is no surprise that innovation is
the topic of conversation this year. The main education sessions will be
presented on Tuesday, October 22, and Wednesday, October 23. Topics that
can be expected to be covered during these sessions include urban air
mobility, artifi cial intelligence and eVTOLs. There’s even a talk on how
remote-piloted unmanned aircraft will co-exist with the current
business aviation fl eet.

Discussions on sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) can also be
expected, with an event designed to “set the record straight”
on the fuels’ value, with discussions on the benefi ts and
potential drawbacks of SAF. The session will also break
down technical elements of SAF and its approved process
for daily operations.
A half-day event on small fl ight department
management and operations will allow fl ight
department managers to discuss best practice for
operating and managing aircraft. The session will
cover issues from maintenance to safety management,
including how to fi nd safe and reliable contract help.
Another session will explore common aircraft
ownership and operating mistakes and how to avoid
them. Meanwhile a session on Safety Management
Systems will analyze a hypothetical situation through a
question and answer approach, to determine what can be
done to prevent fatalities from loss of control infl ight.
In addition, if you’re curious about what future products or
services might be introduced to the aviation industry, the “pitch
session” will allow you to watch innovators and entrepreneurs
make a live pitch to investors who might ultimately invest in their
company, with attendees given the opportunity to vote for their favorite.
