Design
The architectural design of the new
FBO has been tuned to reflect the local
natural environment. Anderson said,
“The facilities will be a sophisticated,
contemporary style with a combination
of timber, stone, glass and steel
details. Expansive use of windows will
allow for natural light and panoramic
views of the Rocky Mountains and
downtown Denver.”
Sheltair expects a wide range
of users at the FBO once it opens,
including corporate and business
aircraft operators, private pilots and
general aviation and business aircraft
operators, air medical services, military
and law enforcement flying.
Don Davis, Jefferson County
manager said, “Our local aviation
community expressed a strong desire
for an expansion of
available aeronautical
services, and I believe
Sheltair’s arrival at
Rocky Mountain
Metropolitan Airport will
provide that expansion
through high quality
services. We are excited to
welcome the Sheltair team

they will make RMMA the regional

Jerry Holland, founder, chairman and CEO
of Sheltair, added, “When we made the strategic
decision to expand our company’s presence westward
we quickly realized that Jefferson County would be
a welcoming partner because its public and private
leadership recognizes the power of general aviation.
“Accordingly, they have been enormously
supportive of our plans. We are looking forward to
meeting their expectations as construction on this
facility gets underway.”
The Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport is the
fourth busiest airport in Colorado and during 2018,
handled 171,994 aircraft operations, an average of
471 per day.
During construction Sheltair will continue to provide
aviation services from it temporary structure which was
opened in January.
