Improving battery production
Ensuring a battery provides
enough power with the correct
form and fi t for the end product
is no simple task. Whatever the
material dispensing requirement,
assembly solutions must be
able to deliver optimal precision,
accuracy and machine life, with
equipment that dispenses exactly
the right amount every time; even
with highly abrasive materials.
When looking for industryleading,
fi eld-proven solutions
for end-to-end battery cell
manufacturing, companies must
choose processes that deliver
improvements, effi ciencies and
solutions for everything from
dies for separator manufacturing,
to anode and cathode bonding,
to applying abrasive thermal
management materials.
Companies such as Nordson
can offer this range of services,
and use their expertise to develop
holistic, full-cycle solutions for
customers. In addition to a full line
of dispensing products, Nordson
also supports robotic automation,
and industrial test and inspection
equipment – delivering scalable
and integrated systems designed
to optimize production throughput,
deliver superior quality, and easily
integrate into a factory.
Engineered in order to be easyto
use and maintain, minimize
labor and to reduce the total
cost of ownership, Nordson can
develop complete dispensing
applications for everything
from cars to buses, aircraft and
energy storage, including pack lid
bonding, pack cover gasketing,
power distribution potting,
battery pack encapsulation,
thermal management and
materials dispensing.

Smart HV connector systems
A leading expert in connectivity
and sensor solutions, TE
Connectivity (TE) has launched
its next generation of charging
cables and inlets for hybrid and
electric vehicles. The new charging
cables are specifi cally designed
to meet DIN EN 61851. The Type 2
vehicle connector also meets IEC
62196. TE Connectivity’s latest
generation of AMP+ charging
components enables signifi cantly
faster charging of hybrid and
electric vehicles. In compliance with
the latest international charging
standard, IEC 62572, this AC
charging solution can be plugged
into any home power outlet with
no specifi c charging infrastructure.
The advanced integrated printed
circuit boards monitor charging
temperatures, while the embedded
Human Machine Interface (HMI)
indicates faults and status. In
addition, the enhanced housing
design provides high impact, drop
and drive-over resistance. These
properties make the new AMP+
charging cable generation high
performance, easy-to-use and
extremely robust.
Specifi cally designed to
correspond with its charging
cables, TE has also launched
its next-generation combined
charging system (CCS) inlet types,
which meet vehicle manufacturer
requirements for plug-in hybrid and
battery electric vehicles charging
in just a few minutes.
