MF NEXT
Agritechnica 2019 opened with the unveiling of this
stunning Massey Ferguson machine. Once the
curtain dropped the audience broke into
spontaneous applause. Presented in black, grey and
gold livery – the same colours as the lunar landing
50 years ago – the machine was declared to be, “a
small step for Massey, a giant leap for the industry.”
The Next concept boasts a remarkable, futuristic
appearance which is more than skin deep. The
machine offers both partial and full autonomy for
road and fi eld operations, on-board integrated
technology delivering easy-to-use precision farming
functions, integrated sensors and cameras to
manage inputs in real time, and an Augmented
Reality heads-up windscreen display with three
screens. Connectivity means on-board crop
scanning, delivering essential data for real-time
application adjustments across the complete
growing season. Sensors and cameras are fi tted
into the tractor’s bonnet and cab roof, seamlessly
linking into the next generation precision farming
system, and scanning the soil and crop in real time.
Operators will be using two joysticks rather
than a steering wheel. The left-hand lever operates
the navigation, while the right controls the
transmission, making speed and direction changes.
The machine is topped off with automatic tyre
pressure control for unique carbon-free tyres, and
parametric LED lighting.
