“As a global brand we manufacture
for all market types and
conditions,” said Redman. “We
don’t build for any one
market, and certain
models meet certain
country demands. Each
tractor is con gured to
the customer
requirements. For
example, in the UK we
see a greater demand for
the Auto Command
transmission and 50km per
hour version, and the trend is
with the higher horsepower models.
Other markets will probably only take wheeled
units but may t dual or even triple wheels so we
have to cater for everyone. e new Genesis T8 is
the next generation of architecture and

encompasses the new Stage V engines which we
still maintain our company strategy of SCR
technology only. With its ability to be remotely
accessed this latest tractor series can send out
so ware updates over the air.”
New Holland is abundantly clear
that the new T8 is not a followon
from the launch of the
latest Case Magnum tractor
– also part of the CNH
stable – but instead a
follow-up to the previous
T8 model. e Genesis
name is a proud link to
the company’s heritage,
not least 25 years ago
when they rst introduced
a high horsepower unit to the
model line-up.
“ is was called the 70 series tractor
or the G series in Terracotta,” says Redman.
“ ose tractors represented a step change in
design. Today’s Genesis T8 is also a step change.

are not designed just for one application as they
could be used on a tillage task and can equally be
at home on a trailer with transport applications.

The future
In 2020 New Holland says it will extend the
Genesis T8 range with a new 400hp fullpowershi
model featuring a 21Fx5R speed
transmission that will be available on the agship
T8.435 Ultra CommandTM in wheeled or
SmartTraxTM versions. With this new addition,
customers can choose at every power level the
transmission technology most suitable for their
business, whether it is Ultra Command full
powershi , for heavy dra work in the eld, or
the Auto CommandTM, for speed-sensitive and
transport applications.
e company launched the new T8 Series at
Agritechnica in November 2019, with the rst
production models due by the end of 2019. iVT
