UPDATE
Consolidation portal announcement
Neutral Air Partner,
along with its airfreight
wholesale sub-industry
group NAC Consolidators, has
collaborated with HashMove,
a digital logistics technical
company based in the UAE, to
jointly develop an advanced
and innovative digital B2B
neutral airfreight consolidation
portal for the logistics
community.
The new NAC consolidation
portal will be available
exclusively to freight
forwarders and transport
related companies worldwide
and will be providing instant
airfreight wholesale rates
and bookings, as well as
consolidation schedules to
and from over 100 airports
worldwide.
“The NAC consolidation
portal is powered by more
than 50 regional leading
neutral airfreight wholesalers,
consolidators and master
co-loaders worldwide. Our
members are top BSA and CPA
agents on selected carriers
and trade lanes, offering
competitive wholesale
airfreight rates, through mix
build-up ULDs and weekly
scheduled consolidations,”
comments Christos Spyrou.
“In Asia only, our airfreight
revenue and buying power
combined is larger than some
of the top global players, as
our members rank among the
IATA top ten in countries like
China, South Korea, Taiwan,
India, Indonesia and Vietnam.
We are very confi dent that our
partnership with HashMove
will enable us to digitise
effectively the air cargo logistics
B2B industry, taking into
consideration every small detail
of the airfreight procurement
and consolidation management
model of each market.”
Nadeem Hussain, Head of
Partnerships and Alliances for
HashMove, adds: “We believe
that our partnership with NAP
represents a defi ning step in
the evolution of the logistics
industry. Combining NAP’s
extensive experience and
expertise in air freight with
the technological capabilities
of HashMove will open up
new and innovative ways for
logistics providers to conduct
business, which will transform
traditional notions of effi ciency
and routes to market. This is
the fi rst of many initiatives
we are planning to release
with NAP, which will bring
enhanced value to the logistics
community as a whole.”
RHENUS
ADDS TO ITS
NETWORK
The Rhenus Group recently
acquired the international freight
forwarder and logistics solutions
provider, Freight Logistics, which
is headquartered in Florida.
Freight Logistics operates its own
consolidation hub located near
Miami International, and has its
offi ces in Argentina, Brazil and
Chile. Following prior acquisitions
by the Rhenus Group in Brazil and
Canada, the acquisition of Freight
Logistics will further strengthen
the presence of Rhenus Air &
Ocean in the Americas.
Freight Logistics was founded
in 2001 by Gabriel de Godoy in
San José, California, with the
aim of providing international
transportation and fulfi llment
services to manufacturers,
distributors, systems integrators
and resellers of high technology
products in the US and Latin
America. Today, the company
specialises in supply chain
solutions, international
transportation (both air and
maritime), customs brokerage,
compliance, warehousing and
distribution. Freight Logistics is
IATA-accredited and a licensed
Non-Vessel Owning Common
Carrier.
“The acquisition of Freight
Logistics is an important step
for us in expanding our business
activities in the Americas region
and follows our acquisition of
Rodair in Canada. These steps
enable us to consolidate our
network there and to serve both
North America and Latin America
from Miami as our new gateway.
This will help us live up to our goal
of being globally oriented and we
can establish more links between
the continents,” commented Jörn
Schmersahl, CEO of Rhenus Air &
Ocean Americas.
AMAZON CHARTING NEW WATERS
As has been mentioned already within the pages of Air Logistics
International, Amazon is not a company given to resting on its laurels.
May saw the logistics expert involved in a ground-breaking event at
Cincinnati, where it has begun to build a new facility.
The new project will encompass some 3.6 square kilometres of
facilities and reputedly will cost around €1,500m: it is due for
completion in 2021, at which point Amazon says that around 200
daily fl ights will be accommodated via 100 aircraft. During the initial
phase, however, some 50 aircraft will be deployed. The installation is
a hub for air services within the scope of the airport. The reasoning
behind the project is a simple one: it will permit Amazon to become
less reliant on other air distribution companies.
