has appointed James Wilson

created role, Wilson holds

is on maintaining customer

EXERTIS PROMOTES BROTHWELL TO
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
EXERTIS HAS ANNOUNCED the promotion of Jamie Brothwell
(picutred) to the newly created position of business development
director. In addition, Al Coyne steps up to lead Exertis’ print division.
Both roles report into Phil Brown, Exertis, sales and commercial
director and are effective from January 2019.
“Our industry is continually evolving with new technologies
constantly changing the business landscape. Jamie will
be responsible for identifying new and profi table business
opportunities for Exertis and ensuring that our customers take
advantage of the diverse range of products and solutions that we
can offer,” said Brown. “Al will take on the responsibility of leading
our successful print division based from our Norfolk offi ce. Both
appointments are fully deserved refl ecting the contributions they
have made in driving our print business and establishing a centre of
excellence for the A3 and specialist print market.”
ITP appoints
new board member

Professionals (ITP) welcomes

as its newest board member.
The Board of the ITP governs
the work of the ITP and
comprises senior personnel
from across the sector. Crissi
Williams, CEO of the ITP, said
“Paul is a valuable addition to
our board, bringing strategic
operational and marketing
insight from his distinguished
telecoms career. He is already
closely involved with our work,
as an ITP Fellow and we are
looking forward to working
closely with him in 2019.”
Huawei defends global position
HUAWEI ROTATING CHAIRMAN Ken Hu held a press conference
recently to showcase Huawei’s 5G equipment, as well as an
independent cybersecurity lab. The conference was held to
highlight where Huawei is already successfully working with
businesses and governments despite recent media speculation.
Hu delivered strong messages of confi dence in Huawei’s
business growth and prospects, citing the trust of hundreds
of network operators, nearly half of the world’s Fortune 500
companies, and hundreds of millions of consumers. Huawei’s 2018
revenue, he said, was expected to exceed US$100 billion.
BT has recently said it will not use Huawei’s equipment within
its 5G core when it is rolled out in the UK. The network has been
steadily removing the Chinese manufacturer’s equipment from
core services for over two years.
