FROM THE EDITOR
Phew...
Icould feel the collective sigh of relief from the market as the Tory party won a clear majority
in the General Election last month. Our re-elected Prime Minister has previously stated his
intentions for the bre market and once he makes good on his campaign slogan ‘Get Brexit
done’ hopefully he will give the connectivity space the attention it deserves.
I was particularly pleased to see how vocal our market was during the election campaign with
key gures standing up and ghting for their businesses and employee’s futures. Leslie Costar, coowner
of ISP ICUK, called into the LBC (Leading Britain’s Conversation)
show to challenge Labour MP, Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, on air about his
party’s ‘free’ broadband policy. If you didn’t see that clip online and want
to see a member of the market grilling a politician, I encourage you to go
and have a look.
I’d like to applaud everyone who posted comments, in-depth
articles, liked, shared and generally put themselves out there for the
bene t of the market during the campaign run up. e passion
and character in the market is fantastic to see and is the reason I
believe the Channel will always thrive.
Onwards and upwards!
Will Boris deliver on Brexit by the end of the month? Who
knows, what I do know is over 50 per cent of our readers have
said that customers had been holding back spending because
of the Brexit process. e sooner we resolve this and move on
the better.
As we settle into our new status quo as a nation, Comms
Business will be back with the Awards this year to recognise talent
within the industry. e entries will open later this month so make
sure you put yourself forwards for one of the most recognisable
accolades in the market.
