calls to non-Teams users –
because it’s the hardest element
to deliver, involving disruption
and change as you connect
Teams with your PBX. And
this means that most businesses
have eectively partitioned
the external world of their
customers from the internal
world of their sta. at’s not
a good thing in the age of the
customer.
Microsoft of course has an
answer. For businesses with less
than 300 employees, at the end
of 2019 Microsoft opened up
Teams as a PBX replacement
by enabling the 365 Business
Voice add-on, which includes
a call package where Microsoft
acts as the Telco. e fact is
that Teams remains, at present,
an extremely basic telephone
system, the out of box Microsoft
call packages are restrictive,
uncompetitive and pre-pay.
Given that most businesses
have telephone systems, Teams
provides no direct integration
with your current phone system
without lots of hard work.
While hard work is what the
channel serving the corporate
market thrives on, it’s the
reverse when selling to smaller
businesses. ings need to be
simple for the whole supply
chain and right now, they
aren’t. It’s the Telco resellers
that now face the challenge
to move customers to UC
or Teams and replace dated
PBX’s and soon to be end of
life traditional telephone lines.
Most of these resellers lack the
Microsoft skills to provide a
voice Teams solution, as well
as a fully-edged integrated
hosted telephony solution
whilst resolving all the licensing
complexities involved with 365.
CBM: So, what is the answer?
NM: Something really simple.
To help customers replace
PSTN lines with VoIP and tie
together a hybrid Teams and
Hosted Telephony solution to
improve business productivity
for the long term. With our
new SIP2Teams proposition we
have applied our ‘keep it simple’
www.commsbusiness.co.uk
logic to Teams, to enable Telco
Resellers to get voice working
in Teams for their customers,
without the need to get a degree
in Microsoft.
Whether you want to just
help a customer to use your
conferencing and Voice services
natively within Teams; or if you
want to take the next step and
integrate Teams with Hosted
Telephony that you support
for your customers today, we
have created a fully automated
solution that just works,
brilliantly. All of the coding
to set up the customer’s 365
account and make it work with
your SIP trunks at a click of a
button, simple. And using our
hybrid HV.Select platform you
can integrate your Teams user
on SIP with Hosted Telephony
users to create a fully loaded
telephony and collaboration
suite. What’s more, we’ve
created a hop on, hop o
commercial model that enables
you to tweak your own bundle
requirements and channel
capacity so you can create your
own unique Direct Routing
product for any customer
requirement.
is will enable partners
to provide an answer to their
customers today, even if they buy
their Microsoft from somewhere
else. You could then develop
by nding a Microsoft partner
and cooperate together to
deliver new combined 365 and
Telco solutions, or by agreeing
a partnership with one of the
many Microsoft distributors in
the market and building some of
your own skills, you can then sell
the Microsoft element and put
the whole solution together for
your customer.
Coming out of lockdown,
this will give you a really
focussed campaign for your
sales teams to get their teeth
stuck into, and a brilliant
message to take to your
customers, solving a genuine
problem and boosting
productivity for hundreds of
thousands of small business
365/Teams users across the
UK.
