FourNet chooses Union Street
billing for ‘mission critical’ services
Following an extensive
review of its billing and
provisioning operations,
FourNet, a leading
managed service provider,
has selected Union Street
Technologies’ aBILLity
billing software and
associated services. Founded
in 2005, FourNet has grown
remarkably quickly, building
its turnover to over £30m per
annum and developing an
enviable customer base. is
includes several customers
in the blue light sector with
FourNet providing mission
critical services to re, police
and ambulance services across
the UK.
FourNet’s Head of Finance,
Vanessa Worsley, a recent
nominee at the FDs’ Excellence
Awards, oversaw the review
alongside Billing Manager
Amir Hussain. Summarising
FourNet’s requirements,
Vanessa said, “I’m naturally a
forward-thinking individual,
who leads change through
transformation and continuous
improvement. We identied
that the blue light sector
needed a robust billing solution
that could manage their
services and be able to provide
comprehensive real-time
information. Due to the unique
requirements of our customers,
especially with the additional
strain brought by Covid-19, we
needed immediate engagement
in developing robust processes
and controls for managing
services and provisioning in
our billing platform. aBILLity
now has a wide range of
features that make it ideal for
all our customers, especially
those within the blue light
sector. is includes fully
integrated provisioning tools
that provide unparalleled
control over the services we
provide.”
During the review, FourNet
identied several areas where
aBILLity could be optimised
for managing communications
for emergency services.
Vanessa explained, “We
approached Union Street
with suggestions for how the
system could better manage
escalations for clients in the
blue light sector. ey were
receptive and worked closely
with Amir and I to introduce
updates in line with our
recommendations. e results
have been welcomed by our
customers and have helped
us meet the ever-increasing
demands in the blue light
sector where resources have
been stretched to breaking
point. is will greatly help
to cement our position as the
industry leader in this sector.”
Amir added, “Union
Street also introduced out
of hours support for service
and provisioning faults that
aected blue light customers
for the duration of the
pandemic. is was a great
enhancement and has helped
us to expedite fault resolutions
for aected customers.”
FourNet also suggested
enhancements to aBILLity’s
reporting features. Amir
commented, “FourNet’s billing
team recommended changes
to the way aBILLity generates
business intelligence and
end user reporting. Union
Street responded very quickly,
updating the reporting in
aBILLity accordingly. is will
be a great benet for us and
will help to shape our billing
strategy going forward.”
Vanessa added, “Our
nance team are continuing
to work with Union Street
to develop state of the art
reporting and analytics to
deliver real time business
intelligence. e use of
automation will deliver
increased eciency by
reducing human error whilst
allowing billing teams to focus
on more strategic work, and
nance departments to focus
on real time decisions.”
Based on these interactions,
Union Street engaged in
further consultations with
FourNet with a view to
developing other areas of
its software. Union Street’s
Managing Director, Vincent
Disneur, commented,

In addition, FourNet has
recommended updates to
Union Street’s end user facing
customer portal, WebaBILLity
PRO to enhance the customer
experience. Vincent continued,
“WebaBILLity is a great
feature that takes billing data
held in aBILLity and presents
it in an easy to use portal for
end-users. ey can use the
portal to conduct reporting,
manage cost centres, log faults
and much more.”
