You might have seen that I took over as editor last month. anks a
lot for the warm welcome so far! I’m looking forward to getting to
know you all better as I settle in.
I joined Comms Business at an interesting time, with new
technologies emerging daily and large infrastructure projects underway
that will underpin all of that. is has been complicated by the
coronavirus pandemic but, from the conversations I’ve had over the past
few weeks, it’s clear there’s a lot of positivity in the channel around how
everyone can navigate these unusual circumstances.
is issue’s features examine three areas that present resellers and
distributors with unique opportunities. First, we look at the ‘smart
o ce’ revolution (starting on page 24), and how technology is shaping
the world of work. en we look at the ‘device as a service’, or DaaS
(page 36), where we found that this shift looks to be a natural extension
for the channel.
Yet none of this will be workable without suitable billing and
monetisation software (page 30). We spoke to several billing providers
to understand what is important for resellers and service providers in
2020 and beyond.
