Thick and Fast
It has been a busy month here at the Comms Business o ce. Big industry announcements
have been coming thick and fast and I couldn’t be more excited to report on this sector right
now. We are seeing big brands make some big investments into communications and the
Channel is going to have to play their part in getting many of these solutions into the hands
of their customers.
Enreach has acquired Network Telecom to give them a foothold in the UK, the brands under
the company now include Centile, Swyx and Voiceworks. Traditionally a
Channel company they are targeting partners with a localised approach,
a refreshing break from the one size ts all that many vendors take when
dealing with Channel Partners.
Avaya has con rmed a deal with RingCentral to o er a joint UCaaS
solution to the SMB. is has been a long time in the making and
sparks yet another phase in the Avaya story. is is a huge company
desperately trying to reinvent itself, I expect to see more to come
from the telecoms giant as it continues to position itself to
compete in the UC and CC spaces.
ere has been a lot of talk surrounding Microsoft Teams
over the last few months but not many people have been paying
attention to Workplace who are currently galloping up the
inside lane! After hitting three million paid for seats, a million
of which came in the last eight months, the Facebook owned
company has the technology, and money, to ru e feathers in the
collaboration space.
Big changes like these are going to be crucial for the Channel in
the future. Customers continue to do their own research and engage
with partners later than ever before in the buying cycle. When the
questions do come about the di erences between solutions, or simply
selling a best- t for the customer, it will likely be a Channel Partner
with the rst opportunity to in uence the customer’s decision.
