radio telecommunications eld. Over the course of his career he has held
director positions in both R&D and sales. He joined Teltronic SAU in 1999
as Chief Marketing and Sales Of cer. In 2009, in addition to his other
duties, he also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating
Of cer of PowerTrunk, which is Teltronic’s US-based subsidiary company.
In 2013, he was named as PowerTrunk’s CEO.
Jose graduated with a Master’s in engineering from the Technical
University of Madrid.

Katja is Senior Director of Devices at Motorola
Solutions, responsible for leading its TETRA and
rugged smartphone businesses. She joined the
company in 2008 as a product manager in the TETRA group. Prior to her
current position, she held a variety of leadership roles in product/business
management, strategic planning and engineering.
Katja has initiated and worked on a number of innovative rsts, such as
the company’s body worn video portfolio, as well as differentiated device
form factors and solutions. She has also held leadership roles at GN
Audio and Volkswagen. She holds a Bachelor’s in commercial trade and a
Master’s from Copenhagen AVT Business School.

At Collins Aerospace, John is responsible for
designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining radio communications
solutions for the aviation industry. These solutions involve air-to-ground,
ground-to-ground, and the interoperability of multiple systems, including
VoIP/RoIP networks, LMR, and trunking.
He continually evaluates new technologies for their applicability to the
aviation industry, providing solutions geared towards speci c operational
needs.
John has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications
industry. He has worked in all facets of the radio business at companies
including Rockwell Collins, ARINC, NOKIA, and Allgon.
He holds a Master’s degree in IT from the University of Maryland.
John serves on the Board of Directors for the North American Tetra
Forum.

Alan is the Engineering Director for Southern Linc. ETSI
He began his career with Southern Company and
Southern Linc in 1995 as an RF engineer. He was an original member of
the Southern Company telecommunications network strategy team that
developed the business case for - and recommended the construction
of - Southern Company’s LTE network.
From 2010 to 2017, Alan participated in 3GPP, making contributions
so that speci cations were adopted to support Southern Linc’s LTE
deployment. Since 2017, he has been the lead for LTE network
deployment. He received a Bachelor’s in electrical engineering and a
Master’s in business administration from Auburn University.

The makings of a critical communications network
Brian is an experienced consultant engineer, specialising in TETRA
over the last 22 years. He has a rst-class honours degree in
telecommunications and electronics, and is a UK Chartered Engineer, and
a corporate member of the Institution of Engineering Technology.
He has been Chair of ETSI TC TCCE since 2010, and previously
chaired the ETSI TETRA working group 6 (security) for four years. During
the same period, he chaired the TCCA Security and Fraud Prevention
Group (SFPG). Until he completed his service with the UK Police IT
organisation (PITO) he led the Airwave Communications Security team.
Since retiring from PITO, he has been managing a consultancy
specialising in TETRA security. He has been heavily involved in the
architectural design and development of various TETRA end-to-end
encryption solutions, and in TETRA security training.
