Jürgen is Head of Telecommunication of
Westenergie AG at E.ON. He is responsible
for the development and implementation of
telecommunications services to control and manage Germany’s largest
power distribution grid.
He joined RWE in 2002 and since then has held various management
positions in the eld of IT infrastructure and telecommunications. Since
2011 he has been working for RWE Deutschland AG, initially as a senior
project manager. He has played an active role in smart grid projects,
including Smart Operator, ADVANCED and EDeMa.
Jürgen holds a PhD degree in electrical engineering from RWTH
Aachen University.

Steveis the director responsible for the ESN enabling programmes,
consisting of ESN Air, control rooms, devices and ESN Prime+. He joined
the Home Of ce in 2014 as ESMCP Deputy Director in charge of the
technical solutions area. He was also responsible for a number of related
procurements including extended area services, handheld and vehicle
devices and the air-to-ground network. Other responsibilities included
programmes such as mobile infrastructure, Crossrail and the London
Underground. Prior to this,Steveworked for the Met Police, managing
ICT security for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Timo is a Sergeant in the Finnish Police. He has
been involved in the development of police ICT
solutions, including intelligent traf c lights as well as speed radars and
surveillance. He is currently the main user for police vehicle camera
systems, which combine video, situational awareness, and ANPR.
He has been involved in several key development projects, such as the
introduction of a new joint eld command and control solution, body worn
cameras and more.

David began his career with Southern Linc in 1997 as
an RF engineer. He has worked in several other departments within the
organisation, including product development and network design.
He served as Engineering Project Manager for the construction of
Southern Linc’s LTE network and was heavily involved in initial business
case development, design, and implementation. David holds a Bachelor’s
degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University, and a Masters
in information engineering management from the University of Alabama,
Birmingham.

Jarmo joined Erillisverkot Group in 2005, rst as
VP for four years, and as COO since 2009. He has
responsibility for operating VIRVE, which is the countrywide
network in Finland for public safety authorities.
Prior to Erillisverkot, he worked for the telecom cable industry, including
Nokia Group, and later Dutch companies NKF and Draka. This included
time as CFO for a telecoms project in Sao Paulo state, Brazil from 1998
to 2000. He was also CFO for a telecoms distribution company in Texas,
USA, from 2000 to 2002.
Jarmo holds a Master’s in economics, and eMBA degrees. His military
rank is Major (reserve) in the Finnish Defence Forces.

Legal considerations when planning critical broadband networks
Younes is responsible for the mission critical and
private networks portfolio at Business Area Networks. He helps to drive
Ericsson’s business development activities, strategic partnerships, and
innovation projects, relating to LTE and 5G networks.
He has been in the telecom and IT business for 20 years, in a variety
of different roles. These have included project management, business
partnership development, and sales and consultancy. Sectors have
included government, defence and security, utilities and telecom service
providers.
Younes has an MSc in mobile computing and a BEng in
telecommunication from Polytechnique Montréal.
