demonstration; a Lynx 2100LB
compact long-bed lathe machining
shaft-type components; and a
Siemens-controlled (828D) Puma GT
2600M with driven tools (showcased
in the MTA’s Training Zone). The
automation theme will be a feature
for these machines, too, with two
Doosan lathes integrated with
industrial and collaborative robot
technology. A FANUC-controlled
Doosan Puma GT 2100M universal
lathe with driven tools will be
integrated with a high productivity
industrial robot to create a exible,
automated SYNERGi 25
manufacturing cell (powered by Mills’
SYNERGI software). The cell includes
a Renishaw Equator high speed gauge
system. Finally, a FANUC-controlled Doosan
Lynx 2100LSYB will be integrated with a
Doosan M1013 collaborative robot,
demonstrating the productivity gains that can
be achieved through automated machine
loading and unloading As well as
promoting its latest FANUC, Siemens and
Heidenhain operator and programmer
training courses, the CNC Training Academy
will also be presenting and explaining its
new courses that include BobCAD-CAM,
FANUC PC FIPT and Manual Guide i,
to visitors.
#grinding #turning – RK International
Machine Tools, Stand 20-265
The company’s focus will be on its
extensive grinding machine portfolio and the
recently introduced Europa eturn VS range of
manual lathes. In total, seven machines will
be on display, with all but one under power.
Grinding machines shown come from its
long-term supplying partners Robbi, Perfect,
Delta and Jainnher, covering all aspects of
abrasive machining through universal
grinding, surface grinding, vertical spindle
rotary table grinding and centreless grinding.
Those looking for manual turning will want to
see the mid-range Europa eturn VS390 gap
bed lathe Two Robbi machines will be on
show, the Robbi Omicron 600R conventional
universal grinder and the company’s latest
development, the Robbi Omicron T7 PLC
universal grinder. Omicron 600R is the
Energy-effi cient manual lathes will be on
RK International Machine Tools’ stand
smallest in the R-series with a between
centre distance of 600 mm (up to 1,000
mm available on other machines). Its
precision credentials include roundness of
0.8 micron and cylindricity from 2 to 6
micron, while its versatility and exibility
make it ideal for small batch production. The
Omicron conventional universal grinder is the
only machine of this type produced in
western European. Robbi Omicron T7 PLC
universal grinder features the latest version
of the company’s control system with touchscreen,
allowing ease of programming for
operations such as wheelhead and table
positioning, multiple diameters in the same
cycle, semi-automatic grinding cycles with
auto stop of the wheel feed once the
programmed diameter has been reached,
automatic wheel dressing cycle with
compensation of grinding dimensions, plus
numerous other time-saving features
Perfect X36 high precision PLC touchscreen
controlled surface grinder. With a
table size of 300 by 600 mm, spindle-centre-
to-table distance of 500 mm and a 300 kg
maximum table load, the X36 is a capable
machine whose performance is enhance by
the use of a CP4 high precision spindle and
a fully-supported rail design for added
precision and stability. The PLC control
features multi-function grinding and dressing
programs, developed by Perfect to deliver
optimum performance and grind quality. Full
machine enclosure will feature Perfect
PFG-400R rotary table surface grinder is a
class P4 high precision angular contact
bearing unit, giving run-out accuracy of
2 micron. As the spindle is a cartridge type it
is completely sealed and lubricated for
extended service life. Full machine enclosure

spindle, rotary table surface grinder. It can
grind up to 400 mm diameter and up to 205
mm in height. A manual machine as
standard, the LC40 can be equipped with
Delta’s L11E automation system that allows
micron-level feed increments to the vertical
axis. Additional features include canned
cycles to automate certain functions such as
material to be removed, increment (0.001
mm minimum), number of spark arrestors
and number of table revs per increment.
Once the cycle is complete, the wheelhead
is retracted and the machine comes to a
complete stop, ready for part unloading
Jainnher JHC12S centerless grinder. This
allows through-feed and plunge grinding of
components measuring up to 40 mm
diameter while holding micron level
accuracies. Further enhancements to the
grinding performance come from the servo
motor-driven regulating wheel Europa

features eturn energy management
technology (EEMT) that helps reduce energy
consumption, particularly at times when the
machine is stood idle, by putting the lathe
