Motorola Solutions’ range of Avigilon
video security, video analytics and
access control solutions are designed
to provide users with the right
information at the right time. This
means users can then focus on
accurate verification, fast response and
decisive action.
The Avigilon H5M camera is
the latest product in that video
security portfolio and is an outdoor
dome camera.
It can handle tough environmental
conditions, is compact in size and
seamlessly integrates with other openplatform
systems.
In addition, it uses AI-powered
Unusual Motion Detection (UMD)
technology to flag unusual events to
users. It can detect both stationary and
moving objects, with accuracy even in
crowded scenes.
John Kedzierski, senior vice-president
for video security solutions at
Motorola Solutions, emphasises the
accessibility of this new device. He says:

solution for our customers who have
sites that need value-orientated,
outdoor-rated cameras.
“This camera is suited to serve a
wide variety of customer segments,
where we are always working to
provide intelligent end-to-end solutions
that target our customers’ specific
security needs.”
The camera could be used to bring
critical communications and video
security together, providing a solution
for the rapidly evolving needs of public
safety users.
The H5M is oered in 2 and 5MP

Motorola Solutions’ proprietary
Unusual Motion Detection
(UMD) is an advanced AI
technology that brings a new
level of automation to security.
The UMD technology detects
and flags unusual motion
without the need for predefined
rules or set-up. It continuously
learns what typical activity in a
scene looks like.
This allows operators to
filter through large amounts
of recorded video faster when
using Avigilon Control Center
(ACC) video management
software, as it flags atypical
events that may need further
investigation, helping to reduce
hours of work to minutes.
