The next evolution – Channel Live
Channel Live was back at the NEC this September for two days of technology, networking and education. As
the halls fi lled some key themes emerged from the biggest Channel event of the year. From the latest on Teams
deployments to full-fi bre roll outs, Channel Live had it all!
“Digital Britain is all
about enablement. It’s making
applications, workloads,
services available to everybody
from the consumer to the
SME and all the way through
to the enterprise. If you look
at the way CityFibre delivers
a city, I use the term well
planned city, they go in and
look at everything from the
geo-diversity, the modelling
from the consumer all the way
to the enterprise so they are
covering and maximizing the
opportunity. What that means
for the Channel partner is
everything from FTTP all the
way through to gigabit and 10
gigabit deliveries.”
LAUNCHED – DIRECT ROUTING FOR TEAMS
At the show Jola launched their Direct Routing proposition for Teams. Direct
Routing provides a PSTN solution for the Microsoft Teams Phone System. It
allows users to make and receive UK and international calls to non-Teams
users, without needing a hosted telephony system or PBX. It is now available
on Jola’s SIP Manager and offers a cost-effective alternative to Microsoft’s
Calling Plan.

It’s a big job but we all know we
have to get there, my job is to
gure out how we do it.
“ e Channel is more and
more critical to delivering
full- bre. ere are lots of
components which make
full- bre work in this country.
We all recognise that we have
to build. Someone has to dig
up streets and stick big wires
up poles but actually building
