Colorado’s Mountain
Corridor has become
America’s first interstate
section equipped with
cellular vehicle-to-everything
(C-V2X) infrastructure. Panasonic has
fitted 100 C-V2X roadside units along
a 90-mile stretch of I-70 west from
Denver, provided 100 C-V2Xequipped
vehicles and built a traffic
management software platform for
CDOT’s operations center. The
project’s first phase, which involves
building situational awareness for
applications like automated
snowplow deployment, is now
complete and its second phase,
centered on disseminating real-time
vehicle alerts, is already underway.
Across the mountains, Panasonic
has meanwhile embarked on a
parallel, intersection-focused
deployment with Utah DOT. Both
projects aim to move the industry
forward with production-grade
