SMES INCREASE
TELECOMS SPEND
BY 40 PER CENT
NEW RESEARCH BY Onecom
has revealed SMEs on average
spend £2,052 a year on
telecommunication services,
an increase of as much as 40%
since 2016.
Onecom believes this increase
has been largely driven by the
need for SMEs to keep pace with
new emerging digital services
such as cloud, the Internet
of Things, advances in fi bre
communications, and now more
recently the roll-out of 5G.
Despite this, many SMEs
describe the telecoms service
they receive as poor, and
nearly two thirds (65%) are
considering switching services
UNION STREET SCORES HIGHLY IN
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SURVEY
UNION STREET TECHNOLOGIES has achieved an average rating of 4.5 out of
5 in an ongoing customer satisfaction survey. Since May of this year, the
company has been emailing customers following successful completion
of support tickets, encouraging them to rate their overall experience out
of fi ve. The company has reached and maintained this score after having
sent over 2,000 requests across its 600 strong customer base.
The ratings are collated and independently verifi ed through ServiceNow
the IT service management software used by Union Street to manage its
support operations. Elaborating on the reasons behind the introduction of
a rating system, Robert Bristow, Union Street’s Operations Director said,
“When you’re providing a business-critical software like ours, you have
to ensure that when a customer needs support, they receive a fi rst-class
service every time. Continuous feedback from our customers is essential
to achieving this goal and, by requesting their ratings, we’re giving
customers a quick and convenient way to have their say.”
over the next 12 months.
As well as many SMEs looking
to switch telecoms providers,
75% are also considering
upgrading services. Some 35%
are looking to update to a 5G
mobile service, followed by 31%
who plan to sign up for super
fast broadband.
Ben Dowd (pictured), Onecom
CEO, said “When assessing
your business’s telecoms
requirements, there are a
number of considerations to
factor in including the nature
of your business and its
operations; staff numbers; the
level of communication needed
internally and with clients;
the number of communication
channels and sophistication of
communications.”
