MANUFACTURING MANAGEMENT SHOW FEBRUARY 2020
CONFERENCE CALL
The conference programme for the Manufacturing Management Show, 9-11
June, sees leading names from UK industry provide thought-leading training
Ahost of world-class speakers are
already on the bill for the 2020
Manufacturing Management Show
(MMS), being held from 9-11 June at
the NEC, Birmingham.
Panel debates and keynote sessions
around topics including health & safety, FLT
training and lean manufacturing will provide
delegates at the three-day event with the
knowledge they need to boost productivity, profit
and safety in their sites.
In addition, sustainability and the environment
will be a core topic, with some of the industry’s
biggest names sharing their expertise on cutting
emissions and energy use. Tata Chemicals
Europe will be on hand to talk about how it has
cut emissions at its site in Lostock, Cheshire,
while balancing sustainability with the need to
remain competitive.
Frazer Mackay, operations director at
Crowcon, is a renowned expert in lean
manufacturing techniques, having transformed
the performance of the Oxfordshire gas sensor
manufacturer. Learn the secrets of his success,
and how a people-first approach to lean brought
the company untold success.
Meanwhile, a panel of experts from companies
including NatWest and the UK Warehousing
Association will be exploring
the global trade landscape and
British manufacturing’s place in
a post-Brexit world.
A second panel discussion,
featuring Manufacturing
Champions Award-winner
Lynn Willacy of Air Products
and MD of training provider
In-Comm, will look at ways of
combatting the skills shortage,
and how a changing industry
brings new skills needs, many of
which manufacturers won’t be
prepared for.
This year’s MMS is being
held, for the first time, in
conjunction with the wellestablished
Subcon and The
Engineer Expo, meaning
there is more opportunity for
learning than ever before. The
three-in-one nature of the
event is designed to give today’s
time-poor manufacturing

leaders the opportunity
to have all their questions
answered under one roof.
As well as the conference
and workshop sessions, leading
suppliers will be showcasing
their latest products and
services, giving attendees the
chance to see tomorrow’s
technology first-hand.
“The conference sessions
at MMS 2020 have been
created to provide the widest
possible range of learning
opportunities for today’s
manufacturing leaders,”
says MM editor, Chris Beck.
“MMS’ success, historically,
has been in its content, and
I’m delighted that this has
continued as we grow the event
in its new home at the NEC.
There are still plenty more
speakers to be announced, so
watch this space!”
The full Manufacturing Management Show conference programme will be
announced in next month’s issue of MM. Visitor registration will open in March.
