She adds that a project will typically start with a ten to 15 day
workshop, with user representation from different departments.
“The purpose of this workshop is that of process mapping with
systems and the documenting of all of these to ensure if any
localisation or customisation is required it can be catered to by
the system before the final going live stage.
“Cargo Flash ensures complete assistance during the system
migration process that includes creation of detailed planning
documents like risk management and mitigation, cut-over
plan, migration plan, training plan, hand holding and so on.
We ensure complete peace of mind of the customer during the
migration process.”
Feedback time
Based on the solutions that the IT specialist has supplied, what
has been the reaction?
“The result of moving from legacy systems to nGen has been
an extremely positive experience for all the clients,” enthuses
Cripps. “They have expressed that nGen has enabled a reduction
in duplication of data, thereby leading to an improvement in
product performance. The clients have also appreciated the
support and assistance provided by the Cargo Flash team, since
we are eager to support global businesses around the clock,
thereby warranting smooth business operations.
“Clients are also happy with the periodic feedback that is
given to them; and ideas and thoughts are exchanged regularly
in order to ensure product performance is always up to date.
One of the biggest success stories has been for one of our clients
in Indonesia, which, post-implementation of our system, grew
with the objective of being
flexible, highly scalable,
transparent and reliable,
while at the same time
streamlining the business
processes for revenue growth,
by using state-of-the-art
technology. The nGen system
is provided as a SaaS model
on Global Cloud Solution.
Cripps continues:
“Cargo Flash endeavours
to provide the finest user
experience and services to
our clients. Therefore, we
have experienced individuals
in our team, with years of
expertise, who have worked
in senior positions within
airlines and with ground
handling agents, who bring in
a clear understanding of the
requirements for the industry.
They are now bringing that
expertise into the product.”
Set-up and roll-out
When the package has been
agreed, what is involved in
setting it all up – and how long
does it take?
“Once our client has settled
on the package, then standard
procedure includes Cargo
Flash Infotech appointing an
experienced Project Manager
to manage the project. This
person would be the single
point of contact for matters
related to the implementation
project. Our team of
product specialists, business
consultants and technicians
will all assist the Project
Manager during the various
phases of implementation.
“This joint management of
the day-to-day implementation
by the Cargo Flash Infotech
Project Manager and the
client’s Project Manager
would usually be governed
by a Steering Committee,
comprising senior members
from both organisations.”
One of the
biggest success
stories has been
for one of our
clients in
Indonesia
from approximately 10,000
consignments per month to
600,000 consignments per
month in just a four year
period.”
The end-to-end cargo
management solution is
growing indispensable to the
freight sector. If, and when,
those e-air waybills also
finally lose weight, it will be
yet another triumph for the
all-pervasive power of IT.
