G ulfstream laid on an elaborate unveiling event
at NBAA-BACE in October 2019 for the new
aircraft it is marketing as having the tallest,
widest and longest cabin of any business jet – the G700.
The OEM took the wraps off a full-scale mock-up that
demonstrates the possibility to configure the aircraft
with five living areas, and shows off features including
an extremely large galley, circadian lighting system and
an articulating bed.
The G700 builds on the technology of previous aircraft
– particularly the G500 and G600 – and incorporates new
features that respond to customer feedback and the
company’s own avenues of research and development.
The aircraft is also notable for its range – it will be capable

FIVE ZONES
There are many potential configurations. Incorporating
the crew rest and ‘Ultragalley’, which is 122in (310cm)
long, there is still room, for example, for a club four, an
entertainment zone, a six-place dining/conference group
and an aft cabin with two three-place divans, followed by
a lavatory. Other options include a shorter galley and a
master suite with a double bed and shower room. “This is
the first business jet that can have five zones,” says Naveed
Aziz, director of completions research and development
at Gulfstream. “Flexibility is one of the key things for us.”
