Zurich Airport
rolls out DAMM
dispatcher
DAMM has supplied Zurich Airport with a
complete indoor TETRA system, as well as
licences for its TetraFlex dispatcher and PTT
smartphone app.
System integration will be carried out by
ErvoCom, which has developed the overall
airport communications solution. Other
features include an object call server for exible
ight handling, workstations for apron/ramp
control and dispatchers, as well as PABX and
call-diversion management.
Speaking on the importance of the Zurich
roll-out, Pablo Rocha, DAMM regional sales
and global transportation business manager,
said: “We are proud to collaborate with
ErvoCom AG in order to implement our
secure and reliable radio infrastructure in
Zurich Airport.”

Leading UK retailer the Co-op is rolling out
Motorola Solutions’ body-worn video cameras
to mitigate incidents of violence and theft taking
place in-store.
e company will provide an initial 1,000
of its VT100 cameras to 250 outlets, thereby
providing the ability to stream video in real
time to Co-op security partner Mitie. e
cameras are supported by cloud-hosted
VideoManager software, enabling “secure and
e cient camera allocation, user administration
and incident management”.
According to statistics quoted by Motorola
Solutions, the Co-op has seen rates of in-store
crime increase by more than 140 per cent
year-on-year. ere were 1,350 violent attacks
on Co-op shop workers in the rst six months
of 2020.
German lifesavers
leverage TETRA

e Bavarian Federal Agency for Technical
Relief (THW) is rolling out 6,000 Motorola
Solutions two-way TETRA pagers for its
rst-responders.
According to a statement, the pagers boast “a
lightweight but rugged design”, as well as IP54
certi cation, 48-hour battery life, and optional
GPS tracking.
e agency is responsible for the German
federal government’s technical/logistics
operations, including providing assistance
after storms and oods. It also carries out
emergency repairs, and communications for
large-scale operations.
During the COVID-19 crisis, THW has
set up mobile stations for the carrying out of
medical tests, and supported the Federal Police
in border controls.
