UK airport installs
drone management
technology
Bristol Airport is installing Clearsky, an
anti-drone solution manufactured by
Telent in collaboration with Digital Global
Systems (DGS).
According to a statement, the technology
will enable local security forces to “accurately
detect, identify and monitor” drone activity
taking place in or around the airport. It will
also locate both the drone and its operator,
with information shown on either a control
room screen or mobile application.
e deployment follows on from a threemonth
pilot project, carried out with Bristol
Airport Authority and the police.
Speaking of the installation, Bristol security
operations manager Javid Haq said: “It is
impossible to overstate the importance of a
high-performing drone threat system.”

e Swedish Transport Administration
has deployed a suite of Sepura SRG3900
mobile terminals to trams and buses in the
Östergötland region of the country.
According to Sepura, the contract was won by
its partner in the region, Northcom, following
successful trials. e radios “support critical
communications needs by o ering integrated
data, transmitting operational and maintenance
information to the control room.” e
technology also includes ‘advanced noise rejection’
functionality, as well as positioning capability.
Speaking of the devices, a spokesperson for
Sepura said: “ e SRG3900 can act as a gateway,
capable of bridging coverage blind spots such
as buildings or tunnels. In this way continuous
communication with the vehicle and driver can be
achieved, further improving operations and safety.”

Airbus is supplying hybrid radio solutions to
the Kuwaiti government as part of the latter’s
ongoing transition from narrowband to
broadband. Part of this is intensi ed
adoption of secure communications based
on broadband.
According to a statement issued by the
company, its Agnet 900 and Tactilon Dabat
devices are being deployed “across local public
safety entities” within the country.
e latter device is a combined LTE
smartphone and TETRA radio, while the
former is a collaboration platform designed to
enable “rapid communication among teams
wherever they are and whatever devices are
being used”. Agnet 900 functionality includes
voice, multimedia messaging and real-time
location tracking.
