She was a glamorous YouTube
blogger with everything to live
for, but on Friday, 12th,
August, Emily Hartridge lost
her life on a London roundabout. She
wasn’t driving a car, riding a bike or
even walking when she collided with
the truck on a roundabout in
southwest London. Instead, she was
riding an e-scooter on the road,
which is illegal in the UK.
The story captured the
imagination of the UK press, not just
because Hartridge had some degree
of fame, but because she was the first
person in the UK to die in an
e-scooter related road accident.
The tragic incident also
concentrated minds in the UK
