The Constant Fresh product
is also able to support frozen
shipments, Johnson adds,
providing customers use their
own passive packaging with
dry ice or gel packs, or an
approved active container. “In
any case, our highly trained
and experienced staff are
always on hand to advise our
customers on packaging and
how best to protect the quality
of their product.”
Plans in the pipeline
Are there any developments
imminent for the Constant
Fresh product, be it in
technology, network growth or
accreditations?
“As with all our products,
of our network is another key
advantage. Serving over 350
destinations worldwide, the
IAG Cargo network links
major perishable regions
including Latin America,
Africa and Southeast Asia. The
supply chain for perishable
commodities is a truly global
one and the size of our
network means our customers
can source the best products
wherever they are in the
world,” Johnson concludes. we are always looking at ways
to improve Constant Fresh
and deliver a better service for
our customers. Newer aircraft,
which we’re introducing to
our fl eet, are able to set more
consistent hold temperatures,
and advances in cooling and
monitoring technology have
extended reliable temperature
maintenance,” Johnson
relates. “All of this means
that our customers can trust
us to deliver their products
exactly as they intended and
maintain quality throughout
the shipping process.”
In the way of certifi cation, Constant Fresh is fully compliant
with the IATA Perishable Cargo Regulations, which he notes
is widely accepted as the “global gold standard” for perishable
supply chains. “We also ensure that we comply with all local
and regional regulations around the transportation of perishable
commodities. Meeting these industry standards is a key focus
for us – increased regulation has no doubt been a factor in
growing confi dence amongst shippers and producers that their
consignments will arrive at a destination with the quality and
freshness of their products preserved and ready for shop shelves.”
Challenging the competition
With a vast array of providers offering similar services, how
does IAG Cargo differentiate Constant Fresh from its
competitors? “Our range of products offers our customers
unrivalled choice and fl exibility. If a customer requires speed,
they can move their perishable commodities through our
Prioritise product or even Critical in the most urgent of
cases. Our local Constant Fresh product teams have the tools
and know-how to ensure that delicate perishable goods are
transported in a way
that maintains freshness
and quality and we talk to
customers and growers to
understand what it is they
need to improve our service.”
