while continuing to develop new products
and adapt existing ones in line with the
production demands of theaters, opera houses
and spectacular shows. e company’s recent
highlights include the development of version
ve of its CAT control system, architectural
lighting for a venue in India, other projects in
China and Europe, and on cruise ships.
Recently, Waagner-Biro Stage Systems’
expertise in motorized seating solutions and
venue transformation was called upon for the
Cirque du Soleil show e Land of Fantasy.
e company was challenged to manufacture
and install two seating wagons (designed by
Auerbach Pollock Friedlander) that would o er
a spectacular experience while ensuring
the safety of the audience. Each wagon is 30 x
27m (98.4 x 88.6 ) with a dead weight of 350
metric tons and maximum speed of 0.6m/s
(2 /s). Both wagons have a raked seating revolve
with capacity for 720 seats and a slip ring
assembly to enable show e ects and power. e
revolve has a diameter of 27.5m (90.2 ) and can
continuously rotate 360°. At its circumference,
it rotates at up to 2m/s (6.6 /s). Each wagon can
travel 27.4m (89.9 ) horizontally. e wagons
are designed to move and rotate simultaneously.
