e new 225MA midi modular armrest by
sensor specialists Elobau o ers a new
modular system that allows manufacturers of
mobile machinery to con gure the armrest to
suit their operating concept. According to
Elobau, the new product bridges the gap between
standard products and time-consuming
customized solutions.
New system, proven modules
“All operating elements available in the modular
system come from successful developments of
recent years, which means they are eld-tested in
terms of design, ergonomics and function,” says
Eduard Zang, product manager at Elobau. e
modular system comprises di erent modules,
each with numerous variants. From the joystick
and hand-throttle module, the driving functions
can be performed, and the attachments easily
operated. e central operating unit o ers
numerous con guration possibilities which
ensure maximum exibility for integrating in the
operating concept of the machine. Located under
the comfortable armrest is a storage
compartment with additional operator controls
and a handy USB charging socket. Settings for
the rear hydraulics can be made via the
hitchwheel module. For vehicle manufacturers
the modular armrest is a plug-and-play device,
connected to the vehicle via the standardized
CAN protocol SAE J1939 and standard industry
plug connections.
Meeting the current standards for
agricultural machinery
Since January 2018, manufacturers of agricultural
machinery have been bound by EU Regulation
167/2013. is so-called ‘Mother Regulation’
governs the provisions for the approval process
and type tests for all of Europe. e 225MA midi
modular armrest was designed to be compliant
with this regulation as well as the Agricultural
Performance Level (AgPLc) in accordance with
standard ISO 25119.
Ecologically sustainable
As a carbon-neutral company, Elobau made
sustainability a priority in all aspects of the
development process of the armrest including
material choice, manufacturing process and
versatility of use, with no compromise on
durability, quality or cost-e ectiveness. e
outcome is a modular and versatile solution,
designed for ease of use with the operator in
mind. With the wide range of possible
applications and con gurations of the armrest,
the operating system o ers a real cost-e ective
alternative solution.
Multifunctional
One vehicle application that highlights the
functionality of the 225MA is the Syn Trac. e
Syn Trac is a revolutionary vehicle system that
can be converted into di erent o -highway
accessories or attachments on the front or rear.
For this purpose an interface has been designed
that is positioned both at the front and rear of the
vehicle. is makes it easy and safe for the
operator to fasten a wide range of attachments.
With such a high requirement for versatility
in the control and operation, Syn Trac selected
the 225MA modular midi armrest as their
operating system and con gured it with the
operating elements required for their functions.
A joystick is used for the vehicle’s basic functions
such as accelerating and braking, and forwards
and backwards switching, as well as cruise control
functionalities.
Control
e controller of the front and rear PTO (power
take o ) sha is built into the armrest and
contains a joystick that controls hydraulic
attachments and multiple ngertip controls that
operate further functions on the attachments.
e modular and multifunctional nature of both
the 225MA midi armrest and the Syn Trac vehicle
means that both products o er numerous
operational possibilities and can be designed to
t your needs. iVT
