HR director.
Ashford joins from Aviva where
she was global people director at
Aviva Investors and a member of
the executive team for the investor
business since 2014. Ashford brings experience
leading change and business transformation
gained from a career that has spanned financial
services, as well as the retail and utilities sectors.
This includes investment banking at both HSBC
and ABN AMRO, the private bank Kleinwort
Benson, energy company Essent (part of RWE)
and Harrods. She is expected to join TSB in
late Summer.
Ashford said: “I am thrilled to be joining TSB
at such an important time and I look forward to
working with our partners to help deliver the best
possible experience for TSB customers.”
Laura Watkin has been
appointed head of talent at
Europa Worldwide.
Watkin will be responsible for
overseeing and implementing
‘talent nurturing’ for Europa’s 900
employees. The programme will include L&D,
coaching and mentoring, early career
management, and a series of holistic attrition
policies. She will also oversee Europa’s career
development programme.
Watkin said: “I am passionate about
unlocking potential, both in existing
employees but also when recruiting for new
positions. Central to this is creating a
place where people want to work,
understanding mental wellbeing, paying
attention to why people leave, and
understanding attrition.”
Claire Jones has joined Park
Group as group HR director.
Before this she spent 13 years
in financial services as head of
HR business partnering at
MBNA and head of staffing

at Bank of America.
Jones will lead on key areas of the company’s
new strategic plan for growth, which was
announced at the end of 2018. It includes the
relocation of core parts of the business to
Liverpool, as well as enterprise resource planning,
skills and talent management, and recruitment
and retention.
“It is an incredibly exciting time to be
joining Park,” said Jones. “Our new strategic plan
gives us a very clear direction of travel, it opens
up huge opportunities for growth, and all of our
people will play a critical role in shaping the
future of our company.”
Midcounties Co-operative has
appointed Clare Moore to the
newly-created role of chief
HR of cer.
Moore will be joining from
Halfords where she is group
people director. She has previously worked
at Barclaycard, Rolls-Royce and Aston
Martin Lagonda.
Midcounties Co-operative trades across
numerous business types including food retail,
children’s nurseries, travel agents, funeral services
and energy supply, and employs 8,500 colleagues.
Moore said: “Midcounties has unique values
that are rooted in its member-ownership model.
It’s exciting to join a people-first organisation
that’s keen to put colleagues at the centre of its
strategy.” She will take up the role later this year.
