Gigaclear has appointed Gareth
Williams as its new Chief Executive.
Gareth succeeds Interim Chief
Executive Mike Surrey, who will remain
with the business until the end of
March to ensure an orderly handover.

JONNY RAE
Union Street Technologies has
appointed specialist Jonny Rae as
Business Development Manager. Rae’s
remit is to drive adoption of Union
Street’s aBILLity billing software
amongst suppliers of ICT services
across the UK and Ireland.
TRAINEES
Openreach will hire 3,000 new
trainees – of which around 1,600 are
newly created roles – over the next
12 months. The announcement is an
extension of Openreach’s largest
ever recruitment drive, with 6,500
apprentice engineers being hired over
this year and next to support its ‘full
fi bre’ broadband build plans.
Alec Stephens

VAPOUR CLOUD HAS appointed
Alec Stephens (pictured)
as account director as the
company prepares for over
50% revenue growth in 2019.
With more than 15 years’
experience in the technology
sector, Alec began his career
as an inbound contact centre
agent. He went on to progress
through telemarketing and
account executive roles
when the business became
ntl:Telewest, and subsequently
Virgin Media.
Now he will be responsible
for new business development
the length and breadth of
the country, particularly for
network and voice projects.
He will also support existing
clients with their ongoing digital
transformation journeys.
Commenting on the new
signing, Tim said, “I have
first-hand experience of Alec’s
knowledge, tenacity and
approach to customer service,
and it is exactly this level of
