AMAC Aerospace expands
AMAC Aerospace is a group of
companies based in Switzerland,
with presence in France, Turkey and
Lebanon and a network of seven
hangars for narrow, mid-size
and wide-body jets, dedicated to
maintenance, complex design,
modifications and completion work.
AMAC Aerospace is further
expanding, with work on its fifth

hangar in Basel, Switzerland started
in April 2019 and due for completion
in Q4 2020. This 4,850m2 hangar
will be dedicated exclusively to
Bombardier aircraft (AMAC is the
ASF (authorised service facility)
of Bombardier), with space to
accommodate up to four Global
7500s or seven Challenger 350s.
The design of the new hangar will
be completely different from the
other four hangars at Basel, as
it will be closer to the runway.
In other AMAC Aerospace
news, the company was the first
completion centre for the new
Airbus ACJ 320 NEO. The aircraft
arrived in January 2019 at AMAC’s
headquarters in Basel to undergo
a VVIP configuration.
MAC Aero Interiors is busy working on the
refurbishment and retrofit of lavatories on
TUI Group’s fleet of 20 B767-300s. Under the
contract, MAC Aero Interiors developed and
produced new lavatory upgrade kits, containing
LED lights, mirrors, Corian worktops, new floor
pans and other modern convenience elements.
The first kit was produced in 2019, with the
remaining ones rolling out during 2020.
All the kits will be provided with EASA Form 1
and Service Bulletins, as well as installation
instructions in order for the customer to be
free in choosing the MRO to carry out the
modifications. During the installation works,
MAC Aero Interiors will provide additional
support to both the customer and its MRO, if
needed, and ensure parts supply afterwards.
