amenities market, Formia
offers premium, tailor-made
guest and inflight service amenities,
including kits, bags, cosmetics and a
full range of comfort items designed
to make air travel a relaxing and
comfortable experience.
Over a period of 30 years, Formia has
forged a distinctive design approach built
on customer-led design and a foundation
of quality and innovation. As a result,
world-leading airlines and brands in the
luxury, travel, lifestyle and well-being
space turn to the company for help in
optimising visibility whilst adding
significant value to their customer offer.
At the heart of Formia’s success is its
in-house design team, headed up by
creative director, Ben Read. Read’s team
is responsible for all creative services,
from conceptualisation and curation,
to photography and animation.
Underpinning the team’s work is Formia’s
dedication to consumer-centric design.
Understanding what is important to its
customers makes it possible to curate
amenities that deliver on passengers’
wants and needs, and in turn elevate
the overall onboard experience.
Two consumer trends that are making
a mark in air travel, as well as in the
wider world, are sustainability and
wellbeing. Today’s world is fast-paced,
‘always on’ and leaves people with little

consumerism is beginning to ebb as
people seek out a more sustainable

When it comes to wellness and selfcare,
Formia works hard to turn the
onboard experience into a moment of
calm where busy passengers can unwind
and de-stress. By teaming up with
cosmetic brands that align with customer
insights and deliver what they want from
an amenity kit, Formia is able to carefully
curate nourishing products that support
active and often hectic lifestyles.
By keeping consumers at the forefront
of design, Formia delivers beautiful,
quality products devised to be repurposed
and reused, while also giving passengers
a relaxing onboard experience that
encourages renewal and restoration.
an item that is purpose-made for postflight
usage by being both beautiful and
functional. Concepts range from clutch
bags and travel pouches to wash bags, all
of which can be used long after the flight.
Continuing the theme of sustainability
and recyclability, Formia has introduced
a number of plastic-free products and
incorporated sustainable materials
across some of its key partnerships. Its
collaboration with Air Tahiti Nui saw the
creation of amenity kits for business
class and premium economy that were
packed with eco-friendly items including
organic cotton socks, a cornstarch
toothbrush and a bamboo eye mask.
Similarly, for Qantas Airways and Air
Mauritius, Formia created eye-catching
pouches made from recycled postconsumer
polyester for the airlines’
economy class passengers.
