SUSTAINABLE COMFORT
Stimulite honeycomb cushions from Supracor yield benefits for passenger
comfort, airline operations and the environment
With climate change a major concern, the
aviation industry is under pressure to
reduce its carbon footprint and bring
more sustainable products into the cabin.
Foam seat cushions are not always fully
recyclable and are often treated like
disposable items and relegated to landfill.
However, unlike foam cushions which
are thermosets, Supracor’s Stimulite
honeycomb cushions are made from
thermoplastics which are fully recyclable.
The cushions are also washable, so if a
passenger spills their coffee on the seat,
the cushion can be washed and returned
to service.
These sustainability benefits are
achieved without sacrificing comfort.
oxygen and promotes
relaxation – important
wellness benefits not
offered by conventional
seat cushioning materials.
Passengers flying on Swiss
International Airlines’ B777s and newly
retrofitted A340s are enjoying the
wellness benefits of Stimulite cushions,
and Supracor is working with other
airlines to bring more sustainable
comfort to the cabin.
