MARCH 2020
With a big focus on branding and image
in aviation, there are many aircraft
interior update and upgrade programmes
running at any given time. Each of these
programmes has functional, cosmetic and
weight goals, and Signature Plating has
been developing technologies and
processes to support the finishes being
sought by design firms, airlines and
aircraft owners.
The cabin can quickly show any
deficiencies in product design, materials
and finishes. All metal finishes are not
alike, and product and design elements
need to be able to withstand these highly
cycled environments to meet customers’
goals, to be of value to the operator, and
to perform as designed for the passenger.
professionals. While the MRO expense
of replacing or repairing leather
armrests, cockpit yokes or cabin fabrics
is considerable, Jet Suede achieves the
same effect faster, easier and with less
expense. A simple 3:1 mixing ratio and
high-solid, low-bake characteristics
make Jet Suede an efficient alternative
for painting interior plastic parts.
Using an interior cabin coating like Jet
Suede is a cost-effective way to improve

Signature Plating has been developing
and investing in its Anodize range of
durable anodised performance finishes,
which are highly durable to withstand the
harsh cabin environment. In addition to a
selection of standard finishes, Signature
Plating can also develop custom colours
with durable anodised finishes. Anodising
can now be used as a primary finish in
the design of specific aircraft interior
colour schemes. The colours that can be
developed is limitless, giving industrial
designers, airlines and MRO facilities the
flexibility to introduce the exact colour or
finish needed to realise a design vision.
This flexibility is extremely important
for designs that require specific and
complementary metal finishes.
